A rare antique  oval butter or cheese dish with a cow resting on top. reads “BUTTER COOLER” across the front.   Perfect for any French or English Country kitchen!

3.5" wide by 5.75" length and 5.5" tall

Condition:  This piece has been repaired as shown in the 2nd photo.  A piece of the side was broken and reglued.  This is from my personal collection.  I have bought, sold and collected so many of these cow topped butter tubs over the years and never come across one quite like this with the wording as it is.  It’s also simply marked Foreign on the base which I thought was unusual as well.   It would not be practical for actually storing butter due to the repair and it is not airtight but I’ve used it to store corn on the cob holders and small things around the kitchen.
